Judges - Eldrich (dead), Sara, Mira

Witness statement - Tibin Quickstep (clothes merchant), found Aldrich in the Inn owned by Aldrich adjacent to the brewery. Tibin was there to discuss business early. Wasn’t in his office, but was found dead in the bedroom.

Ferrin, new city guard keeping watch on the crime scene
Bedroom - “meet me at the riverbank at dusk” in unusual handwriting, fine green powder on his lips, apothecary smell. Small boot prints also present.

Aldrich’s boots look normal, not like they’ve been down by the river. there is also an open box of herbs delivered from Greenleaf supplies - there is a kitchen.

Find a key on his person to locked drawers of his desk. Find a notebook with notes about the debate and panel. Contains information he should not know about the debate like who the judges are. Only the magistrate and councilpeople should be aware, but every year, seems like people find out early

Hilda Mirin - grandma who loves knowing things, has information about betting on the debate

(K)Night’s Mercy - a small dose sedative, that is dangerous in larger doses.

Find Culprit

Aldrich has been seeing a business downturn this year, which matches with the slower Inn.
- Gossip lady -> judges
- Nights mercy -> follow the poison order
- Debt -> what kind of business was supposed to be discusses
- Parchment -> who to meet at riverbank at dust

Tibin - thieves cant for transport, very nervous, wants cops out of clothes shop, agreed that business was going well for Aldrich, which we know it wasn't. Seems like Aldrich was trying to arrange transport out of the city, but was killed before he could, presumably due to debts owed.

Traveling Merchants each purchased 2 doses of (K)Night's Mercy from Marla Greenleaf over different days.

6. Seems like Tibin was the person Aldrich was supposed to meet at the riverbank
so new paths:

- Marla greenleaf = clerk who sold night mercy => ask if she knows more
- Hilda might know more about the debt and business challenges of Aldrich
- Local drunk guy? (didnt follow too well, oops)
Aldrich hired people for this debate season, as past seasons, but then seems to have closed, but kept purchasing supplies.

Aldrich gambling with Tibin and Jessa (blacksmith), and kept losing, which made him launder money by making purchases

7. Aldrich also has debts to Herron

  1. Herron appears to be a roaming vagabond about Gods Hand, given a surprising amount of respect. Is important to or the leader of the thieves guild

Aldrich was in an argument with a plain-looking woman in earthy clothes, about a recipe yesterday morning. witnessed on the way to the flower shop - apothecary is on that route

Marla panics at being confronted about Aldrich, her recipes, and the thing she is working on, when we mention the Night’s Mercy, she freaks and casts druidic magic to attack us as blights rise up from the herbs to attack as well. Gill knocks her unconscious, we examine her notes and bring them and her back to the station.

Important characters of CSI godshand
6. Hilda - horny old lady who lives next to a bakery and is DEEP in the town gossip. (Is she a hag? I’ll never tell.)

  1. Herron - appears as a vagrant town drunk, but is actually important to the Thieves Guild

  2. Verick, Arti, and Gill - three investigators in the guard

Every time the Debate happens: Judges are selected secretly until the day of the Debate (illegal betting pool, and people trying to fix the book)

Apothecary works like a cooperative. (K)Night’s Mercy - a small dose sedative, that is dangerous in larger doses and is a controlled substance. Two doses is the max you can buy per transaction

Very creative apothecary is locked up (Marla Greenleaf, human). Only one assistant knows about this other than the guards.

Guard forces are very CSI…you know

Hilda is an elderly woman living next to a bakery. She is the gossip of town. She tells everything to the guard and takes pity on them sometimes. Objectifies big buff men.
