Cycle of life and death:
Once someone dies, their soul vacates their body and travels to the Astral Sea. There on the “shore” they await to be attended to by the Celestials. If they are deemed ready, humble, pure and faithful, they are invited in the Heavens to experience eternal bliss and happiness and are absorbed into the Primordial Fire that is the source of the Celestials’ power. If they are deemed unfit, their soul is sent to a new body so that they may experience more growth throughout their next life.
As such necromancy is seen as a grave and terrible sin. Bringing people back from the dead is bad as it hinders their advancement through the cycles of rebirth. Not disposing of a body through cremation leads to their souls keeping a lingering attachment to something in the plane of flesh. Necromancy is a rejection of the values instilled by the Celestials. Extension of one’s life through worship of Heavens is seen as a blessing. It shows that Heavens cares about you being on the Plane of Flesh and continuing to spread its message.
Only women may be part of the sanctionned clergy and only them have been known to hear the voices of the Celestials officially.
